Married Dave Gahagan and after died she came back to Kingfield,Tonbridge, Kent to die (of lung cancer) with Elizabeth and Ernest Ford.She is buried in Tonbridge Cemetary. They did not have children.

Maunganui ist auch der Name eines Berges in Neuseeland. Das deutet darauf hin, dass das Schiff aus Neuseeland stammte und Dorothy May von einem Besuch bei ihrer dort lebenden Schwester Rose kam. Interessant: als Mutter wird Martha Beale (!), 31 Richmond Rd. Bayswater, England angegeben, als Bruder Henry James Cook, Box 142, Ringoos, N. J..
